What do the Spirit Guardians of the Earth realm urgently want humans to focus on in the month of May?
ANSWER: Judgement reversed
The month of May encapsulates the following lyrics from The Next Episode, a popular Dr. Dre song featuring Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and the late great Nate Dogg:
“Hold up heyyyyyy, for my ni**as who be actin' too bold, Take a seat, hope you ready for the next episode”
Are you ready? This is what Judgement reversed and the Spirit Guardians of the Earth are requesting we urgently assess.
Judgement card is related to the planet Pluto in tarot. Pluto went retrograde on April 18 and it reaches direct motion again on September 26.
Pluto makes things happen fast when it’s direct, it has a very ‘turned on’ quality. When retrograde the swiftness dissipates and daily affairs reflect more of ‘chill mode’. Pluto amplifies everything it touches, adding an all-consuming and many times obsessive quality to events. Since Pluto is an outer planet it sets a tone, but the heavenly body needs to aspect an inner planet to create materialization in a person’s life.
There is largeness to outer planets that is difficult to understand. Since inner planets are closer to home, you can get what they’re trying to do more easily. Outer planets like Pluto, Saturn and Neptune, in many ways they serve as the Spirit Guardians of the Earth on a planetary level. They set the clock, they hold the wisdom and sometimes the knowledge is so next level it’s beyond our comprehension.
April was all about leadership, getting things going, being a straight up boss in all areas of life (read April horoscope here). But this month Judgement card reversed makes it clear to leaders it is not a good time to be fast forwarding to the next episode; allow life to develop.
In tarot, oftentimes a reversed card hearkens back to the previous card, advising querents to take a step back and integrate the lesson of the antecedent fully. The Major Arcana card appearing ahead of Judgement in tarot is Sun. The lesson to integrate in May is clear: Allow the fire you have already lit to expand in the core. Don’t add more fuel to the flames, it’s already going strong. Wise and effective leaders incorporate evaluation periods; enact a temporary suspension. There are hella other planets retrograde in May too, so staying static is unavoidable.

KEY MAY ‘CHILL MODE’ THEMES FOR EACH SUN / RISING / MOON SIGN:
Aries - Shaman of Swords reversed: Shut yo mouth! Aries, in the month of April your card was Daughter of Swords, so although a mental graduation has taken place in the past few weeks, don’t force thoughts to the next level in May. It is OK to emotionally internalize the idea actualization of April for a little while longer. Also, practice keeping things to yourself in May. Shaman of Swords reversed possesses deep wisdom, but he doesn’t need to chat about it to convince himself of said knowledge. It’s there, let the knowing process before the inevitable transformation of thought into material reality occurs again.
Taurus - Shaman of Cups reversed: Since Shaman of Cups reversed was also pulled for Taureans’ April 2016 forecast, it appears the lesson of emotional authenticity is ongoing. This card represents many things when it’s upside down, including the possibility of emotional repression or an all out sham pertaining to affairs of the heart. Shaman of Cups reversed implores the Bulls to get real about learning to act from a source of unequivocally true sentiment. Ruminating on what it means to be leading from the core of intuition needs to be cultivated.
Gemini - Three of Swords: Twins might feel caught up in webs of multiple conversations this month, a straight up communication entanglement. Gemini, remove the fluff from language and get to the point. Although employing tactful speech while conversing with another is admirable, sometimes a frank nitty gritty elocution is called for. In this month of deep reflection, discover the true nature behind recent intercourse that left a sour taste in your mouth. It’s likely friendly advice was actually a dagger-laden exchange in disguise. This does not mean good friends are suddenly enemies, just that there are a lot of untruths that seem like truths floating around: uncover deception.
Cancer - Nine of Wands reversed: Crab fam, it’s time to regenerate. Crustaceans have been going hard, putting in hours toiling for several months now and the energy to take on the world has been depleted. This month it is imperative to infuse every spare moment with some type of chillaxation activity. Nine of Wands reversed appeared as the Crab card for April 2016, but in May there is a new expression of this essence to consider. Since it’s not the best time to make permanent decisions about issues pertaining to life-altering transformation, Nine of Wands reversed indicates May is the perfect period to reflect on what areas of life are zapping the most amount of energy. Is being obsessed about so-and-so or what-the-what worth it? Your decision, but since Pluto isn’t exacerbating the need to fulfill on impulses, the consideration of extracting the most draining life elements is beyond useful right now.
Leo - Eight of Swords: Lions may be feeling trapped in a mental cage of their own making, but also in this simultaneous state of expansion. Life is not like it used to be, but the mind is taking a minute to catch up with the true nature of current reality. In April, Leos were dealing with Three of Swords energy, which pertains more to entanglements with other people. Now the responsibility for how to steer the conversation lands solely on the shoulders of the Lion. But is this an obligation you want to take on Leo? Eight of Swords indicates a definite sense of hesitation about committing to certain maturing forms of expression. Lion, feeling like you’re walking on a tightrope, or, even worse, tied to a giant immoveable boulder? This is temporary. Try to gently take off the blindfold and discover what is and has already actually expanded.
Virgo - Ace of Wands reversed: Virgins, May is all about nourishing inner ideas without pressuring the mind into actualizing them in material reality. Ace of Wands is a Mercury card influenced by the fire element, so appearing reversed, it can feel like either a creative dearth has taken hold or an inner wealth of awesomeness is burning hard, but there is no outlet to manifest the ideas. The main message of Ace of Wands reversed for Virgos in May is whatever the case, it’s not the time to actualize anyway. The best course of action is to allow a spiritual void to become a propitious guide. This is counterintuitive as a mofo, but at the end of the day crucial to consider. Also, be wary of providing firm commitments to spiritual or creative endeavors: discuss, reflect, but do not give your word just yet.
Libra - Fool: Librans are being called to enter whole new realms this month, to engage with surprise in an unprecedented manner. On the flipside, Fool card can also indicate the presence of idiots. Behavior dubbed as foolish can in hindsight be some of the most courageous acts of bravery undertaken, but sometimes said actions are what they appear to be: stupid. Libra, you have been advised to explore brazen imbecility, have fun and determine for yourself whether stupidity or valiance is present.
Scorpio - Ace of Discs left/reversed: Scorpion, what is the real deal with your material reality? Ace of Discs to the left/reversed signifies a stalemate in relation to this question. You just don’t know what is happening in the realm of finances, work, physical health or nature. There doesn’t seem to be a solid, reliable answer. Second-guessing might be the name of the game, this is fine, find empowerment in asking the right questions about what is really going on in pragmatic life realms. The Scorpion has the power to fuse with objects of desire without any effort - stopping and asking, “Is this right for me?” or “Do I really want to be tied to this?” are the perfect questions to ask in the month of May. A thorough financial, health, or physical review is also called for and will benefit later on.
Sagittarius - Nine of Discs upright-left: Centaur, May is the perfect month to focus on feeling good physically and financially. Nine of Discs leaning sort of to the left indicates material reality has not been deemed as important as pursuing other forms of adventures, but this is the perfect time period to make pragmatism a priority. Celebrate what has already been materialized and put other pursuits on hold for now. You are successful. Pamper, indulge and engage with the thriving actualities that have already been birthed.
Capricorn - Son of Swords to the right: Goat, swiftness is abundant and a blur of conclusions are being pursued. The mental acuity asserted through Son of Swords to the right highlights a unique reality in the season of Pluto retrograde. Don’t worry about it. Whatever seems right does not need to transmogrify into a burden. Why justify? The real question is, who cares? Son of Swords to the right indicates a dogmatic pressure or righteous knowledge. Bet, there are still loads of questions to be answered, so if anything becomes too fanatical in its assertion of truth, allow the space for other realities to be equally relevant.
Aquarius - Ten of Wands upright leaning right: Hard push, pressuring passion into materialization. Pressing a diamond into the perfect formation is a process. Delicacy is called for, otherwise the stone can get cracked or damaged. This is the perfect metaphor for Aquarians’ month of May experience: don’t push it to extremes. Do what you can but know, this a long haul process that requires many more steps.
Pisces - Priestess of Cups to the right: An emotional flood provides the most acute spiritual insight possible. Priestess of Cups to the right indicates a siren who is calling out loud and clear. The message of the song is sung in a manner which relates an unequivocal truth: heed it despite the fact it makes no sense other than its reverberations in the heart.
TIPS, SUGGESTIONS & NOTES FOR THE MONTH:
- Relax. Extra pressure is not called for, focus on performing the basics and release other expectations.
- Rest. If possible, nap. This is not the time to overbook schedules; if something can be put off, allow it to occur later. Let go of the routine and the pressure to engage with “important” matters.
- Acknowledge obsession. Obsessive tendencies aren’t bad all the time, sometimes this sensation provides the added oomph required to take action on what is necessary, but it can also lead to the opposite effect, having us pursuing unworthy paths just to fulfill this all-consuming need for results. This Pluto retrograde break allows us to recognize and exhibit authority in the realm of obsessions.
- Integrate. Whatever you’ve been up to in life, allow the dust to settle in all areas. Forward progress doesn’t help in May, it’s all about integrating what has been developed in a more formidable fashion.
- Recalibrate. Fine-tuning is the name of the game. It’s like a cosmic oil change. Make sure the spokes on the vehicle are well oiled.
- Malfunction. Pretty much everything is not going to go according to plan. Can weep in sheer sorrow over it or chill out, feast with wine in tow and blast good tunes while waiting for progression to return, your choice.
